My big shift happened when I was a special education teacher.
Rather than gravitating towards delivering a curriculum, I found myself naturally fixated on helping my students overcome their emotional and educational challenges, and working with their parents to build a healthy relationship with their child.
I found my place, leaving teaching behind to become a social worker and therapist focused on relationships, because our lives are a web of different connections.
Relationships between parent and child, colleagues, spouses and with ourselves shape every experience we have.
I focus on what I call real life therapy. That is, direct and goal-focused therapy that will improve this specific area of your life.
Over the past fourteen years, I have developed my craft by working in a variety of practice areas. I look forward to meeting you to discuss how I can help the challenging relationships in your life.
I can't wait to meet you and get started…helping you get there.
To your relationships,
How it started…
The relationship with my clients is at the core of my work. While I integrate evidence-informed practices like CBT, EFFT and mindfulness, building trust, openness and understanding is the foundation. My clients would say I'm warm, collaborative, honest and empathetic.
I am aware of the profound impact that power, oppression, and stigma can have on our physical and emotional health, and impact our lives. My practice is grounded in anti-racism, anti-oppression, sex-postive, harm reduction, and cultural competent approach. My goal is to create a space that is accepting, empowering and has lots of room for exploration.
